Each year, normally from Thanksgiving evening to January, nearly the entire neighborhood sets up amazing Christmas displays. From light shows animated to music and large inflatables, homes throughout the Bluff off Girvin Road have it all. Once you take your first drive-through lights tour of Blackhawk Bluff, you’ll make it an annual tradition.
Atlantic Beach Christmas
402 Snapping Turtle Court East – Atlantic Beach, FL
The Atlantic Beach Christmas display runs until 11:00 PM each night from December 1 through December 31. Visitors can tune their radios to 94.5 FM to watch the animated Christmas light show with holiday classics.
225 E. Duval Street – Jacksonville, FL
Downtown Dazzle runs nightly from November 29 through New Year’s Day. Guests visiting the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus office will be treated to a holiday light display that’s synchronized to songs on 94.5 FM.
Festival of Lights
11016 Lillian Saunders Drive – White Springs, FL
Hosted by the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park (what a mouthful), Festival of Lights is one of the area’s most popular holiday traditions. This year, the event will run from December 4 to Christmas Eve. Tickets are just $3 and include admission to the entire park and its facilities. Christmas on Crystal Springs
10580 Crystal Springs Road – Jacksonville, FL
Homeowners of this animated holiday light spectacle on Crystal Springs Road install nearly 100,000 dancing Christmas lights each year. The shows usually begin at the end of November, right around Thanksgiving, so load the whole crew into your Honda Odyssey once you get stuffed with stuffing. St. Augustine Nights of Lights
1 Cathedral Street – St. Augustine, FL
After 26 years, St. Augustine’s Night of Lights Christmas decorations remain the best in North Florida. The 2019 light shows start on November 23 and end on February 2. Wait times are best on weekdays in early December. If you go on Christmas Eve, you may be idling in line for at least 30 minutes, so plan to keep those tablet-obsessed kids distracted with your Honda Pilot’s Wi-Fi hotspot. Winter Wonderland in Brunswick
Newcastle Street – Brunswick, GA
This December 14, explore Downtown Brunswick as they put on their annual Golden Isles Winter Wonderland showcase. Families can view holiday decorations, create arts and crafts, and shop at all the unique vintage shops for Christmas gifts. View the Golden Isles site for more info and event times.
3800 St. Johns Bluff Road South – Jacksonville, FL
The Christmas season verifies the Morocco Shine Center’s name thanks to literally millions of holiday LED lights that shine throughout the area. Tickets for this mile-long drive-through lights tour in Jacksonville start at $20 per vehicle; to get the most bang for your buck, you should certainly bring a full Odyssey full of people. Riverside Avondale Preservation Luminaria
Riverside and Avondale – Jacksonville, FL
Known as one of the nicest holiday celebrations in the Jacksonville area, Luminaria is a popular event for Riverside and Avondale neighbors to interact. More than 20,000 candles line the sidewalks of the entire historic district. It’s not the ideal place for a Christmas lights tour, but if you live nearby, you can take a romantic evening stroll through the district with your sweetie. Open every December, Suwannee Lights puts Live Oak on the map. That’s because nearly 7 million Christmas lights are on display at this remarkably decorated holiday display. Families can enjoy s’mores, Christmas carolers, hot chocolate, and photo opportunities with Santa. Feel free to drive through or walk the area.
Deck the Chairs
75 1st Street N – Jacksonville Beach, FL
Held on the Seawalk Pavilion, Deck the Chairs is a Jacksonville Beach tradition each holiday. It features lighted sculptured exhibits on and near all lifeguard chairs throughout December, each of which is unique. The Christmas decorations are free to see until New Year’s. Okefenokee Swamp Park
U.S. 1 South – Waycross, GA

This subdivision off Old St. Augustine Rd is incredibly illuminated with Christmas lights starting on Thanksgiving. The drive-through neighborhood features several homes that have holiday displays galore, including animated light shows with music (95.5 FM).
