Lake City Fourth of July Fireworks

When: 5:00 – 10:00 PM
Where: Columbia County Arena

Lake City always keeps their annual July 4th event simple. Beginning at 5:00, the Columbia County Fairgrounds will open their proverbial doors to families. Live music, food, kid’s activities, and games will be available for all. Around 9:30, the fireworks soar! There’s a reason why thousands attend this Lake City holiday event each year—and it may have something to do with hosting one of northern Florida’s best fireworks displays.

Sunshine Festival on St. Simons Island

When: July 4-7
Where: Various locations on Saint Simons Island, GA

Is there a better way to celebrate America’s independence than with a four-day birthday bash? That’s exactly what you get at St. Simons’ Sunshine Festival.

First up: A morning 5k race on July 4 at Mallery Park. The rest of the 4th of July will revolve around family-friendly activities and a fireworks finale at 9:00 PM. Throughout the week, the St. Simons Island 4th of July Arts & Crafts Show will be open at Postell Park. Once Friday comes, you’ll be wishing for more.

Independence Day Celebrations on Jekyll Island

When: July 1-7
Where: Various locations on Jekyll Island, GA

Break out the swim trunks on July 1 for a special swim-in movie—here’s a hint: 🎶under the sea (under the sea)//darling it’s better, down where it’s wetter🎶—at the Summer Waves Water Park. Cool off in the wave pool with the kids beginning at 8:30.

Sometime after sunset (around 9:00 PM) on July 3, the Golden Isles’ most extraordinary firework show will pop off over the island’s east side. Pack your Honda Odyssey well in advance, arrive early, and get a primetime spot right on the beach.

On Independence Day, Jekyll Island kicks off the celebration with a morning holiday parade through the National Historic Landmark District. At 9:00 AM, the streets will be flooded with Fourth of July spirit. Once the final float comes through, prizes will be awarded for several holiday-themed categories, including “Overall Best of Parade.”

Following the Independence Day parade, the Village Green and Beach Village areas will be hosting an entire afternoon of excitement. Slip around on water slides, jump till your knees get wobbly in bounce houses, or browse local wares at the numerous shops set up along the sidewalk.

The celebration week ends on Saturday, July 7 with the new Beach Village Music Series, which will be led by drumming all-stars the Jacksonville Jaguars D-Line (not the football club). Two whole hours of sun, sand, spray, and snare (drums)? Count us in!

4th of July Fireworks Celebration in Jacksonville

When: 9:00 PM
Where: Jacksonville Beach Pier

Easy does it. This Jacksonville July 4th celebration is perfect for couples looking to toss romantic sprinkles on the desert that is Independence Day. As the sun goes down, hundreds of colorful fireworks will be launched from the Jacksonville Beach Pier. So, dip your love-entangled toes in the sand, clasp hands, and lie back to enjoy a dreamy end to your evening, lovebirds.

City of Waycross Fourth of July Celebration

When: 3:00 – 9:30 PM
Where: Bit Tanner Field in Waycross, GA

Another free July Fourth event, another reason to appreciate America. This year’s Waycross Fourth of July Celebration will offer all you could ask for in a summer holiday event: bouncy castles, water slides, face painting, balloons, and, of course, a spectacular firework show once the sun sets. You won’t find a more dazzling display in Waycross this Independence Day.

Fireworks Over the Matanzas in St. Augustine

When: 6:00 – 10:00 PM
Where: Plaza de la Constitucion/Castillo de San Marcos

Few July 4th fireworks come close to matching the brilliance of this St. Augustine firework show. But before the choreographed fireworks fill up the sky above the Matanzas Bay at 9:30, your ears might want to experience some energetic tunes. At 6:00, The All Star Orchestra brings its iconic big band and swing music to the Plaza de la Constitucion gazebo for a free two-hour performance. (Bring chairs or blankets, as seating is limited.) Then the action begins with a 20-minute 4th of July firework display over the Castillo de San Marcos monument and Bridge of Lions!

Old Fashioned Fourth of July in Brunswick, GA

When: 7:00 – 9:30 PM
Where: Mary Ross Waterfront Park

This free Fourth of July celebration is situated in the heart of downtown Brunswick and offers all-you-can-eat watermelon, lawn games, sack races, more watermelon, tugs-of-war, hula-hoop contests, and even more watermelon. At 9:00, East River and Oglethorpe Bay will come to life with a 30-minute Independence Day fireworks show. Oh, did we mention the free and delicious South Georgia watermelon?

Hometown All American Fourth of July at Fernandina Beach

When: 5:00 – 9:00 PM
Where: Downtown Fernandina Beach, FL

Brace yourself for one of the best July 4th parties in all of Florida! Fernandina Beach’s Fourth of July celebration is entirely free and will feature your standard Independence Day activities (music, games, etc.) as well as several contests. Dress up your pet in some snazzy red, white, and blue attire, and she may win a trophy. Spice up your bike with some Americanized accessories, and it could become the most patriotic two-wheeler around. Or chow down at the pie eating contest for your chance at local stardom.
